When To Use

For use as an employment offer letter which, if accepted by the Employee by signing at the bottom of the letter, will become an employment agreement including all financial terms.

Employment may be for an indefinite term and terminable at any time for any reason ("at will" employment), or for a specific term and terminable only for cause.

For example, this agreement is the choice in situations where it is more desirable to present the employment offer in letter format on the Employer's letterhead rather than in a traditional legal contract format.

This agreement does not itself contain the necessary intellectual property ownership and confidentiality provisions, and for this reason, the agreement provides that the Employee will execute a separate Intellectual Property Ownership And Confidentiality Agreement [see our IP-NDA Agreement (For Technical Employees, Contractors) for this purpose].
